Using a blog for commercial purposes
-
A programmer we hired made a web site using WordPress but I don’t see permission to use WordPress for commercial purposes in the Terms of Service. The programmer says it’s “not a problem.” We’re not a high-traffic site but we don’t want any conflicts over usage. Can anyone point us to an authoritative response on whether a commercial site can be hosted on WordPress?

i recommend that you read this http://wordpress.com/types-of-blogs/
“Business: Professionals ranging from realtors to lawyers and stock brokers are using WordPress.com blogs to spread their knowledge. And companies are discovering the power of blogs to communicate with their customers via company news and announcements, product reviews, user stories, testimonials, etc.”re: advertising restrictions

Other than the terms of service and these your best bet is to contact staff at http://wordpress.com/contact-support/ (Mon-Fri 8am-4pm Pacific time) or using the “support” button in the upper right of your dashboard.
