Using Chrome - can't stay logged in?

  1. Google Chrome is my default browser and I've never had a problem with it before when it comes to WordPress. Within the last two or three days, each time I log into my account and try to access my dashboard, I'm logged out and again asked for my password. This wouldn't be that much of a big deal, however even when I enter the correct password, I'm redirected to the same page and effectively cannot login. I can bypass my actual dashboard and just go directly to the 'post to' page, which does allow me to post, but I can't edit my links, check my statistics, or anything not accessible from the topmost bar (which does show up when I go to my blog so I know I'm 'technically' logged in)

The problem is not with my account, because using Firefox I can get in just fine, see my dashboard, etc. I haven't changed any of the standard Chrome settings, I've tried clearing my cache. I'm just not sure what's up.

The blog I need help with is l0veyalikew0ah.wordpress.com.

Make sure Chrome is set to accept cookies.

  3. What version of Chrome are you using because there was a issue with one of the older Dev builds logging users out of their WP.com dashboard and not allowing them to re login.

  4. I just downloaded the most recent version of Chrome as far as I know. I'm accepting cookies as well.

Switch to Firefox is all I can suggest. Chrome seems to have collected a whole bunch of bugs in the last few releases (builds). If I didn't know better I would swear they had been acquired by Microsoft.

  6. Same issue here. Having trouble with other sites as well... going to try reverting to main channel of Chrome. Of course this means I'll have to abandon Bookmark Sync :(

  7. EDIT (which I can't actually do, so here's a reply instead):
Switching from the beta channel to dev channel appeared to fix issues at least with this site... fingers crossed for everything else.

The one thing that everyone should be aware of is that wordpress has stated in the past that they will not do any compatibility work for any beta browser version. They will only start compatibility testing and such after it comes out of beta and is in full release.

  9. Yep, same issue for me, only much worse. I can access the dashboard, add new post and a few other pages, but there are a few where it just won't let me log in. I can't view statpress or the edit posts page because it keeps asking me to log in. Every other page is fine. I can NOT access those pages at all in Chrome, which is really frustrating. Works fine in Firefox.

I would suggest staying with ONLY stable public releases of ANY browser. Beta's and nightly development builds will always cause you grief.
