Using fireftp to transfer files from wordpress onto photoshop CS5

    Hi everyone,

    The other day I watched a video on how to customize your blog on WordPress, through transferring files with fireftp. However my only issue with using fireftp is finding out who is my webhost?

    Has anyone used fireftp to transfer files, from wordpress? If so what do you type under the host name?

    I really would appreciate any help.

    If you are talking about this site, http://kokugyokoi.wordpress.com/ , your "webhost" is wordpress.COM and we do not have FTP access here.

    The instructions you are finding are for self-hosted WordPress installations on third-party hosting services such as dreamhost, bluehost, etc., and using the software from wordpress.ORG.

    At wordpress.COM what is available to us is the Custom Design Upgrade which allows us to stylize the themes that are offered here using CSS.

    This document explains the basic differences between wordpress.COM and self-hosted wordpress.ORG sites.

    Hi thanks for the reply.

    Ok so I have downloaded wordpress.org, and I am using http://www.000webhost.com, as my host. However I am struggling to work out the following:

    " Your domain is not yet pointing our server, so services such as FTP, Website Builder or File Manager may not work. You need to update nameservers to ns01.000webhost.com, ns02.000webhost.com for your domain. This warning will be removed once your domain will start resolving to our server (24-48 hours after the nameserver update). How to update the name servers? "

    Please could you help. I do not know where to change the name servers.

    The site you are asking about does not seem to be hosted on WordPress.COM so you need to make friends over at WordPress.ORG the keepers of the software you are using.

    You need to register your own domain - you can't change the name servers for the blog linked to your name.
