very basic help with chateau theme

  1. hi, i am new to wordpress.com. i am using the chateau theme. i want to make 2 very simple changes.

1.) on my blog page, i want to add a block of text below the custom header image that the template supports. this block would be part of the header of the page and always appear at the the top of the page

2.) i want the blog page (place where the posts appear) to be the home page for the site.

    any help would be appreciated

    thank you !

The blog I need help with is jsgawkowski.wordpress.com.

  2. Howdy!

    1) You can add a Text widget with your desired text to the Sidebar Widget Area under Appearance -> Widgets; it will display just below the header area and to the left, and persist on all pages/posts.

If you wanted to move this Text widget to take up the full width of the content column underneath the header, we can help with that in the Custom CSS forum.

    2) This is the default behavior; once you've created some Posts, they will display as the front page of your site.

    I hope this helps!

  3. thank you so much for the response and the great support - this is helpful - just for the sake of leqrnign a it more - i will post the question in the custom CSS forum.
