Very difficult wordpress setup

  1. I've had wordpress sites for many years now and all I seem to be able to do is play with it, It is the most difficult to set up program I have ever had to deal with, I set up my Categories only to have them vanish from the pages people see and none of my posts are connected to my categories, I can't even make my posts appear as several showing on the main page like all the ones I have seen online before with many different options they have. my site only shows the one post I just created and nothing else, it very irritating, there isn't even anyone to help me, I did find a WordPress for Dummies book by Lisa Sabin-Wilson, and she helps some but some things are still left out. Is there anybody that can help a dummy for dummies like myself please, I just want to get some of my sites going for me and other wordpress illiterate's in my family.
Maybe it's a generation thing, I am now 53 years old as of the 21st of August and thought I was good with computer related things, but not this, everyone says how easy wordpress is but it is not to me.

The blog I need help with is experimental1960.wordpress.com.

  2. Help

  3. On the bottom of your Admin page you will find a link to the Step by Step Learn WordPress.com blogging Tutorial prepared by Staff. http://learn.wordpress.com/

The support documentation is all found at the Support link http://en.support.wordpress.com which is also on the bottom of your Admin page.

Note as your blog is private we Volunteers cannot view it an provides specific help.

  4. I can't even make my posts appear as several showing on the main page like all the ones I have seen online before with many different options they have.

    (1) There is only one page we can post to in any blog and
    (2) The static pages http://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/ we create do not automatically update.

Only the dynamic pages like Archives, Categories and Tags created by the software when we publish a post will update automatically update with new posts.

By default the front page of the blog is the page that displays all published posts in your blog. Though there is only one dynamic page in a blog for posts (not pages) http://en.support.wordpress.com/post-vs-page/ and we cannot post to more than that one page, we can create the appearance that we have posted to more than one page.

We organize posts by assigning categories to them. You can create a custom menu and add the dynamic categories pages into the custom menu.

  5. P.S. Playing the age card in cyberspace is not advised as the Volunteers assisting you here are your age or even older. LOL :D And there is no barrier to humans learning new things right up to the last moment one draws breath.
