I have the basic free wordpress.com blog and want to upload a video.
How do you upload videos when the only allowable upload formats don't include any video formats?
The video i want to upload is only 2.24mb.

You can upload videos directly to your WordPress.com blog with a VideoPress upgrade. You can find full details at:

one other question... the wordpress app for my blackberry tour has an "add video" function, does that not work at all?

I don't have the answer to your question. What I do know is that there is a separate forum for the blackberry app at http://blackberry.forums.wordpress.org/
