video will not embed

  1. I'm trying to embed a video as I've done a bazillion times but I just get the URL thread. What's going on?

    Heroes 'N Pirates

The blog I need help with is heroesnpirates.wordpress.com.

  2. Use the shortcode
    [youtube=URL]

Everything else goes wonky from time to time, but this always works.

  3. The video isn't a youtube video.

  4. ...

So why not tell us what it is and give us a link to it and tell us the method you are using to embed it.

  5. Thanks for your reply. I'm using the standard URL embedding icon on visual editing. This is the link:
    http://www.dailymotion.com/video/xb6scs_norah-jones-come-away-with-me_music

  6. Well, it's a hulu video, so that could be the problem. Have you tried the Dailymotion shortcode method explained here: http://en.support.wordpress.com/videos/dailymotion/

  7. I'll try it, thanks.

  8. I was told "No preset. This video is not preset because it has no video stream."

  9. That should have read "This video is not available because it has no video stream."

  10. Sounds like it's blocked either in your location or in the location of the server hosting your blog. That's a problem with Hulu. Try looking on a different site for the same video.

  11. Both Dailymotion and Hulu won't open. Those are the only sites that have the video. I found it on Youtube but when I clicked on it, the video box read:

"This video contains content from EMI, who has blocked it in your country on copyright grounds."

So is my best bet just posting the Dailymotion link? I've done that and posted the song off youtube but the video is just a still of Norah Jones' face.

  12. Thanks by the way for your continuing help. I'm going to bed will check back when I wake. Thank you so much.

  13. I am having the same problem, with a youtube video, and I tried the shortcode without success. I tried using the whole URL (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LweZOAUPUSU), I tried omitting the first part, I tried it using the media button and I tried just typing the whole thing into the text box. Do you have any ideas?

The blog is bibliolore.org.--it's modified Pilcrow, if that helps.
