VideoPress & My Self Hosted Site

    Hey everybody, I recently jumped from WordPress.com to a self hosted site. My Value Bundle renewed maybe a week ago while signing up with BlueHost. I know VideoPress comes with that Value Bundle and i would still like to use it to host my video content through a gateway via Jetpack...but i would prefer to pay the normal 60$ a month rather than 99$ for the entire bundle. Do i cancel my bundle then sign up for VideoPress separately? I'm not sure if i cancel my bundle if it would cause complications with the videos currently connected to my self hosted site. Also, my domain name is currently in limbo between DNS and again i'm not certain if canceling the bundle will complicate this. Or...because my bundle just recently renewed, is there a way to be reimbursed the difference of the cost of VideoPress? Happy to hear from any happiness engineers that could give me some potential solutions or guidance on this.

    Hi Concanema, we offer refunds within 30 days of purchase for most of our products and don't normally refund automatic renewals. Your Bundle renewed together with your domain registration. What I can do for you is to leave the Domain Mapping and Registration upgrades ($18) on your account, as well as VideoPress ($60), remove the No Ads, Custom Design, and 10GB Space upgrades, and issue a partial refund of $21 ($99-$18-$60). Please let me know if that would work for you.

    Hey Jenia, thanks for the quick reply back! That would be fantastic, thank you! I recently transferred my domain to BlueHost and was wondering if I still need to keep that upgrade as well? I guess im just not clear on how my accounts connect to use these services; does that upgrade still communicate my WordPress.com username to my WordPress.org blog to use the Videopress service etc or does all that connect via Jetpack?

    Hi Concanema, I see that you transferred your domain name to the new registrar. I went ahead and refunded you $39, so you are only charged $60 for VideoPress (subscription good through 2013-11-19, will need to be renewed manually).

    Jetpack and VideoPress connect to your WordPress.com account in order to provide the additional services. You can review the status of your upgrades after logging into WordPress.com and visiting Store > My Upgrades in your Dashboard.

    Hey Jenia, I was curious how long the refund takes to process? The 39$ hasn't reflected in my account yet.

    Refunds can take 1-2 weeks to be reflected on your account. If you don't see the refund in either your bank or PayPal account after that time, please let us know.
