videopress upgrade button not working

  1. videopress upgrade button does nothing when I click on it.

The blog I need help with is www.occatholicnews.com.

  2. http://www.occatholicnews.com is not being hosted by WordPress.COM. We provide support only for blogs being hosted WordPress.COM and not for WordPress.ORG software installs. You are posting to the wrong support forum.

WordPress.com and WordPress.org are completely separate, have different log-ins and run different versions of some themes with same names. http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

If you don't have a username account at WordPress.ORG click http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right hand corner of the page that opens, so you can post to the support forums there and receive advice from WordPress.ORG bloggers.

  3. I have a wordpress.com account in order to purchase upgrades from wordpress, such as Videopress subscription which also works on wordpress.org sites. My problem is this, the button on the wordpress store site for videpress is not working, and I need to buy a subscription. Who supports that?

  4. As far as I know the upgrades can only be purchased for sites that are hosted by WordPress.com. I'll tag this thread for Staff assistance because I do not know how to help you. Another Volunteer may answer prior to Staff but I tagged the thread so it will not fall through the cracks and escape attention. Please subscribe to the thread so you are notified when they respond and please be patient while waiting.

  5. Thanks

  6. You're welcome.

    P.S. I found this http://wordpress.org/plugins/video/

  7. I read that they discontinued that approach in favor of the jetpack. I think I need to do something other than just purchase the subscribe button, but no real documentation.

  8. Hi there,

I see that you were able to register a WordPress.com site in order to upgrade to VideoPress. I also see that you have JetPack up and running. If you have any further questions about WordPress.com issues, please let me know.

However if you have WordPress.org questions, because your site is self-hosted with a different provider, the support staff at WordPress.com does not have access to your site's files.

You can find support for your self-hosted WordPress site here:

    http://wordpress.org/support/

    http://codex.wordpress.org/

I hope this helps! Best of luck with your self-hosted website.
