    Hi

I have a link to a PDF file on the above blog (under the category Lecture Notes) which works as a link on the home page but when you select the category and it brings up the post the PDF is not a clickable link until you click on the date and the it becomes a link (if that makes sense!).
I am using the Twenty Theme.
    Any suggestions?

The blog I need help with is aabuildingconservation.wordpress.com.

  2. With 2010, the theme you are using, on category pages it only shows the beginnings of posts and then puts a "read more" tag. When things are set up this way, all HTML tags are stripped out of the beginning of the post. That is why the link is not live until after you click on the actual post title.

With 2010 though, there is a work-around. You have to switch to the HTML tab in the editor, copy out what you want to show on the category page and then paste that into the "excerpt" field down below the text area in the editor.

    thanks for the reply.
When i swap to the HTML tab I have just got the following HTML link code:-

    12 November Lecture Notes

Where do I need to copy and paste this?

    Me again.
hoping someone can help. What I ideally would want would be for the full post to show when you click on the category in the archives.
Is this not possible with the Twenty Ten theme?

  6. Whenever we click a post title in the Achive or anywhere else we get the entire post displayed on it's own page.

This is a theme dependent function so you will have to select a theme that provides what you want. Click the link below.

In the majority of themes, posts in category or monthly archive pages show up just as they do in the main posts page. But in some themes only the beginnings of posts are shown, and in a few themes you only get titles or thumbnails. http://wpbtips.wordpress.com/2009/03/25/full-posts-in-archive-pages/
