Vimeo Universal Player shortcode?

    I host my blog on wordpress.com to showcase my videos. I like to take advantage of the new universal player (html5) from Vimeo to allow the videos to be watch on apple devices. WordPress blogs that are hosted on private servers can support the player with iframe but the shortcode [vimeo 12345678] for example, is still using the Flash link. Is such support in the pipeline? If not, I can pull out from wordpress.com soon.

    Vimeo support says this has to be implemented by WordPress support.
