Visable Posts Stop Displaying After Seven

  1. http://truepcgaming.com/

My site usually shows the last 20 posts with a link to "Older Entries" at the bottom of the last post, but I for the last two hours, all I see is my 7th post and no link to Older Entries. I have made absolutely no changes to the site. I asked a fellow writer from another area of the country to check and he sees the same thing. I have also tried viewing the site in Chrome, Firefox and IE with the same results. I have run this site for 8 months with no issues until now. The site is hosted on WordPress.com

Can anyone please tell me why this is happening and how to fix the problem?

The blog I need help with is truepcgaming.com.

  2. Twenty posts on any front page means page loading time is excruciatingly slow. Page loading time is a page ranking factor and studies sho that we have 3-4 seconds befor users click out.

Staff have intoduced "infinite scroll" to Twenty Eleven and that means you no longer have control over how many pages display on the front page of your blog, unless you disable it using a workaround.

Infinite scrolling is an interface technique that allows users to browse through content without clicking on pagination links. Instead, all users have to do is scroll to the bottom of the page and new content will automatically load on the current page.

  3. Thanks for the workaround. What bothers me after reading all of the information is why the link to "Older Entries" was disabled. Also, the fact that those in a position of power decided to make this change without notifying members.

  4. Used one of the workarounds and the site is now showing the proper amount of posts.

    Thanks again for your help.

  5. I'm glad you found what you needed. Happy blogging!

  6. Also, the fact that those in a position of power decided to make this change without notifying members.

WordPress.com is not a democracy. They make decisions and bloggers here have to live with the consequences. They've decided that infinite scrolling is the greatest thing since sliced bread and that 7 posts is the magic number to show per load. It doesn't matter that you want less or more than that.

Sad that is, but it is the reality here.
