Visual Editor/Tab Not Working

  1. Thanks Macmanx!

  2. This is all fixed up now. It may take some time for the change to roll out to you, probably no more than an hour (actually, probably now).

You may also need to clear your browser's cache: http://support.google.com/accounts/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=32050

  3. Thank you all, it's working

  4. Confirmed... everything is back to normal.

  5. Me too, everything works fine now. Thanks!

  6. You're welcome!

  7. Hi,
I replied to another (later) thread about this issue, and timethief suggested I come here, because I've logged off and cleared the cache but the problem persists.

  8. Okay, I think I've resolved it. Upgraded my browser. Phew.

  9. @andyszpuk
Good to know and thanks for telling us. Happy blogging! :)

  10. It worked twice, and then the same problem occurred . . . bemused.

  11. I still have the problem, but I have not cleared my browsers cache yet.
    Maggie

  12. Can you please try clearing your browser's cache?

  13. I closed WordPress down, clicked on the Tools tab, went to Internet Options, and Deleted Browsing History by checking all the boxes in there. I've done this several times, so it must be gleaming in there.
The problem isn't occurring with all posts, just my latest one. The next one in the list appears fine.
If I access my blog from Google Chrome, it works - but I prefer to work from IE9 with Google as the browser (if that makes sense). Working from Google Chrome doesn't give you a full screen to see your text when typing in.

  14. I downloaded a different browser, Firefox, and it seems to be working okay now, and I like the layout. Just need to get the hang of using Bookmarks instead of Favourites, but that won't be an issue hopefully.

  15. Read all the solutions, tried them all, still having the problem. Up-to-date versions of Safari, Opera, & Firefox all are unable to show content when the Visual tab in Edit Post is selected. Caches cleared, etc. Mac OSX 10.7.3

  16. Alright, maybe you don't have exactly the same issue.

Would you please describe exactly what is happening, and which browser (and version of) you're using?

  17. When I go to Edit Post, I can see text when I click on the HTML tab, but when I click on the Visual tab, the window is empty and I can't enter any text. Seems to be happening in Safari 5.1.3, Opera 11.61, & Firefox 10.0.2. WordPress 3.3.1.

  18. Here are screenshots.

    With HTML tab clicked: HTML

    With Visual tab clicked: Visual

For clarity I want to confirm if this is your blog or not http://www.hungryagain.net/

If that's the blog you are asking for help with in this thread, then you are posting to the wrong support forum. You need to post to http://wordpress/org/support/ as we run on different software here at WordPress.com and we don't provide support for WordPress.org installs like that one.
    WordPress.com vs WordPress.org:The Differences

  20. Um, thanks, [fittingmembername]. For clarity, I want to confirm if this is your brain or not: http://wordpress/org/support is not exactly a working site. Thanks for the (no) help post. Gimme a break. The symptom is the same; surely the cure is similar.

  21. @hungryjohn
For clarity I'm sorry I made that typo above and I apologize. This is the correct link http://wordpress.org/support
I'm visually challenged and I do make mistakes from time to time but I'm not rude. I suggest you read this sticky post at head of the WordPress.com forum http://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/wordpresscom-forums-code-of-conduct?replies=1
If you don't have a WordPress.org account you can register one at the top right hand corner of that page http://wordpress.org/support/ so you can post to the correct support forum for your software.

  22. I started to work fine for me after I emtied the cache...
    Thanks
    Maggie

  23. @andyszpuk, I tested Firefox 10.0.2 on a Mac and IE8 on Windows 7 just now, and I am unable to reproduce the problem since it was fixed on March 2nd. I think the visual editor should be working for you in IE9. To confirm, did you say the problem with the visual editor not working only happens with the latest post on your blog? Could you provide a link to that post please?

  24. @hungryjohn, in this case, the visual editor issue that happened on WordPress.com is likely unrelated to the one you experienced. For a WordPress.org setup with visual editor troubles, the best thing to do would be to load up a browser tools such as Firebug for Firefox, try to catch an error on the page when you see editor problems happening, and then post the details to the volunteer-based WordPress.org support forum. Giving more specific error details in your case, may really help. You should also mention if you have any plugins installed that affect the visual editor or if you have made any modifications to the visual editor in your copy of WordPress.
