Want more "clickboxes" included in "Theme Options"

    Hello:

    I am currently using Theme: Twenty Eleven but I want "more control" over how I want the layout/appearance of my weblog (at least without purchasing a "Custom CSS" and/or "Premium Theme") and perhaps for the "Twenty Twelve" theme, if any.

    For example, in my recent Forum topic (please refer to http://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/want-excerpt-included-in-theme-features), I wanted a nice "clickbox" to help me to FURTHER narrow down my choices of themes available under the WordPress.com site.

    With that in mind, how grand would the following idea be --- to have many nice "clicky boxes" under the "Theme Options" of any/all WordPress.com themes (at least for the "free" ones)? A "clickbox" (here and there) to toggle desired features for Excerpts, dark/light colors schemes, content/sidebar layout, whatever.
