Want to use fonts other than the fonts in theme setting

  1. I wanted to use a different font using the @font-face but even though i apply that code the font remains the same in the blog. When i change from Theme settings it changes. Theme settings provide fonts which are simple enough.

Any suggestions how can i use my own fonts?

    Thank you

The blog I need help with is techtoll.wordpress.com.

Font is entirely being controlled by theme settings

  4. You can't.

  5. Why cant i remove the theme control from the Theme setting?

  6. Are you referring to a free hosted WordPress.com blog like this one?
    http://techtoll.wordpress.com/
If so, the answer is you can't use those fonts.

If not, then and your are referring to a WordPress.org install then you are posting to the wrong support forum and should be post here instead http://wordpress.org/support/

  7. If you purchase a custom design upgrade for a free hosted WordPress.com blog then see here http://en.support.wordpress.com/custom-design/ and note the only fonts you can use are from TypeKit Fonts > http://en.support.wordpress.com/custom-design/custom-fonts/

  8. I am sorry. I forgot to mention that i have installed wordpress on my server. the address is http://www.techtoll.in

    Thank you

  9. Right. Unfortunately you have wasted both your time and mine because you are posting to the wrong support forum. We do not provide support for local installs of wordpress.org software here at wordpress.com. You must post to http://wordpress.org/support/

  10. I want to use a font which has been uploaded by me to my server. How to do that?

That won't work anyways, no matter where the site is hosted. The page won't display any font that is not installed on the viewer's computer. Font displays are dependent on the local font library, not on what the web page code calls out.

Viewers can even block out all fonts other than ones they specify in their browser settings.

So, if you call out font face special123abc (grabbing some name at random), and I don't have that font installed on my PC, I will see the page in Tahoma or whatever my default font is.
