Web Traffic Stats

  1. I am currently in process, about half way done, of moving from Movable Type 3.2 to WordPress. It's been a breeze so far!

In my Movable Type 3.2 blog, I used, (more for information, rather than deep tracking!) web site traffic meter sites such as Statcounter and Goolge Analytics.

Can these be used with my WordPress Blog? A code needs to be inserted for these sites to track the hits/traffic etc. Where would this code go?

  2. Google Analytics is already running on our blogs, but you can add the HTML for Statcounter to a text widget in your sidebar (you can't use javascript here for security reasons).

You also asked about a stat counter http://faq.wordpress.com/2006/07/28/can-i-have-a-statcounter-on-my-blog/

As you are new to wp-MU I'd like to direct you to this thread outlining the resources you can use http://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic.php?id=11280

  5. Thanks Judy and TimeThief.
    Info and links pretty useful.
I'll go and mull these over and then come back with more questions!

  6. You're welcome and happy blogging :)
