I'm new to wordpress, formely using blogspot and I am completely lost. I bought the upgrade- which includes webhosting and such but am I not able to really edit the appearance? I want it to resemble a proper website and downloaded a WP theme but no idea where to go from there. Help!
The blog I need help with is fillthebook.com.
There is no FTP access to free hosted WordPress.com blogs and we cannot upload third party themes or edit templates or themes. Those found on the internet are for WordPress.ORG installs which run on different software.

This is a multiuser blogging platform. All blogs wearing the same theme are using the same underlying template and we cannot access the underlying files and edit templates or themes. http://en.support.wordpress.com/themes/editing-themes/

Damn, should of researched more before upgrading. Can I swap to wordpress.org for free? Regretting my purchase because it seems it doesn't really give you much control....
We hosting of a wordpress.org site is not free of charge and I warn you in advance that you get what you pay for. For self-hosting figure an average monthly total cost of about $10 and up generally, but that all depends on storage and bandwidth requirements. You will be responsible for all upgrades, installations, backups and troubleshooting. If you install a theme or a plugin that negatively affects your blog, then you have to figure out what went wrong and fix it.

Exactly which upgrades did you purchase because if your are within the allowed timeframe some may be refundable?
I bought the value bundle. Yeah, I just looked into and I have 30 days refund time- I purhcased it last week but now saying I bought it more than 30 days ago. Sent an email to support so hopefully can get it all resolved.
Really I bought an upgrade because I wanted the domain name, to have multiple navigation menus and to control my ad space. I did not realise there would be a such a significant different between wordpress and blogspot in terms of control!
