weird format with date, posted in, and tags...just started happening

  1. On the last two posts I published, the date, posted in, and tags box is a weird color and doesn't look right. I have the Twenty Eleven theme, in dark mode. This box used to be black and I don't know if I did anything to make it this strange grey color. Please help! Here is the link to my blog and the two posts that this is happening on are: "try this" and "a sunset blessing." Thanks!

The blog I need help with is madamemotivation.wordpress.com.

  2. I see what you mean and have tagged this thread so it's moved to the Themes Forum where Themes Staff can tell us what's causing that. Please subscribe to this thread so your are notified when they respond.

  3. P.S. You need to take a close read of this http://en.support.wordpress.com/topics/#missing-posts

  4. That's the default look for Image and Video format posts. Edit the posts and set their format to Standard.

  5. @justpi
    Thank you.

  6. Thanks for your help! @justpi, I have posted video and image posts before and they don't look like that so I'm not sure why they've started doing this weird format recently. I just found it strange and didn't know if I accidentally changed something under themes or something. If I change the format to standard, then the videos just appear as a URL, not the YouTube video you can play on my page while reading what I wrote.
@timethief, am I doing my tagging wrong? I'm kind of new to blogging so I don't really know a lot. Thanks for taking time to help me on this.

  7. Read the information at the link I posted. The classic error of new bloggers is to use too many tags and categories. The rule of thumb is to use the least number of relevant categories and tags supported by the content.

No it's not you, it's WP.

If I change the format to standard, then the videos just appear as a URL, not the YouTube video you can play on my page while reading what I wrote.

This shouldn't be happening. Check the instructions:

  9. That's exactly what it was @justpi. Thanks so much. I changed everything to Standard and just embedded the videos. That article was helpful, thanks so much!
