Weird post and page editor behavior

    I've been seeing some rather odd things with both the post and page editors windows. I almost never use the visual editor(s) tab, yet I'll often find that it's been "preselected" for me when I start a new post/page or go to edit an old one.

    Also, I've always positioned the elements of the post editor so that they arranged from the top as "Post Tags" then "Publish" and "Categories" (the three I use), yet I keep finding them repositioned when I start or edit a post.

    Has anyone else had these problems? Can there be something I'm doing to cause them?

    Which browser and version of it are you using please?
    Have you tried troubleshooting If not then please do. http://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/

    I'm still using Firefox v3.6.17. I haven't updated because it's incompatible with the version of the F.E.B.E. add-on I use to back up my profile (an update is in the works, but I don't trust betas).

    Could these problems be caused by using an outdated browser? Do you know of another easy way to back up my profile that's compatible with the new version of Firefox?

    Yes the problems could be browser related but I'm not saying for a fact that it is. Have you read this entry from the Staff blog? http://en.blog.wordpress.com/2011/05/19/just-write/ I upgraded from Firefox 3.6.17 to Firefox 4.0 by using the Browse Happy link and I'm not experiencing any issues. http://browsehappy.com

    I don't have an answer to your backup profile question. Maybe another Volunteer will have one.

    Thanks again TT! For the moment, these things are more of a distraction than they are actual problems so I'm not in a big hurry to make changes. Unless I find an another way to do backups beforehand, I'll probably just give the F.E.B.E. folks more time to push out a stable release.
