weird problem with audio player

  1. I am having a recurring problem with the embedded audio player wherein the audio comes out distorted through part or all of the playback. The direct link is not distorted.
The mp3 is encoded at 128 kbps.

    Here's the link: http://uglyradio.wordpress.com/2009/03/06/fud-up-friday-podcast/

Anyone know what this could be?

    Any help greatly appreciated!

    Thanks!

  2. Some info regarding the audio file: It's encoded at 128 kbps, VBR (iTunes says it's 121k), recording sample rate was set to 'auto' on Audio Hijack, which ended up coming out 48khz.
So, in the future, I might set it at 128k and 44khz. Perhaps all these random variables are making the flash player choke on it. It's the only common denominator I can think of.
Does anyone know if ellipsis in file names could be the culprit, too?
    I date/name my mp3s like 3.6.09.mp3
    Just guessing.

  3. From the support page:

Note: The audio player expects the file to be encoded at 44.1kHz

    That may be the problem.

  4. Thank you!
I thought as much when I realized that my last two files were recorded with some suspect settings enabled.
Unfortunately, I recorded them that way and will just have to make sure all future ones are corrected and disable the player for the earlier ones.
    Thanks for replying!
