   For some reason, whenever I "sticky" a post to the front page of my blog the date stamp of the stickied post dissapears and a weird, random white box appears above the post in the center. Any idea whats causing it?

   That is the featured post slider, which typically will show posts that you set as sticky as long as you set a featured image on the post. See the theme description page under "Featured Posts in iTheme2."
