   Hello.. same problem all the time with editing. I have tonnes of problems with the layout messing up.

   Today this happened, and its one of many little irksome things that go on. I'm gather I'm doing something wrong.

   Ok so on this page http://allaboutpoi.wordpress.com/2011/12/19/how-to-make-sock-poi/
   It looks how I want now but I had to put invisible dots in.

   The layout was fine but the first video was too small so I removed and replaced it
   I checked the editor and it looked like this

   Bottom of paragraph
   1 Blank space line
   Video
   1 Blank space line
   Next Header

   Exactly how I wanted it, however on saving and viewing the post, there was no break between bottom paragraph and the video. I tried added an extra blank line and still it reverted to missing the blank line out (there was two showing in editor). I added html for line break between the two in html mode, but everytime I saved it vanished from the html mode.

   I finally got it to go right by backing the text up to the end of the video and hitting return key.. finally it stuck but THIS time there was no blank line space between the bottom of the video and the next header

   What I've done now is to put a dot on the blank lines and color them white so they can't be seen.
   But surely this isn't how it has to be?

   Why does the editor randomly start ignoring blank lines you put in?
   Does everyone have invisible dots to space out there posts?

   Like I said, one of many equally irritating things that go on in editor.
   If you are lucky enough to write something from start to finish in ONE draft then you'll be fine, but for the humans of this world... so frustrating!

   What's important is to know how your theme is designed to operate, how images are aligned and formatting in WordPress. Please read:
   image alignment

   The alignment icons in the WordPress editor are for aligning text; they are not for aligning images. They are used to achieve wrapping text around images on either the right or left hand side, or to display an image that’s centered without text on either side of it. If the text beside the images does not occupy the same amount of space that the image beside it does then the text wrapping will continue and the images and text that follow will have a staggered appearance.

   1. Align-left means position left, with the rest of the content wrapping around the right side of the image.
   2. Align-right means position right, with the rest of the content wrapping around the left side of the image.
   3. Align-center means position center, with no wrap-around (= the rest of the content below the image).

   So if you want your images to be side by side on the same line start by setting the alignment of all three images to left. To prevent the staggered effect what you do is insert the following snippet of code into the HTML editor after each image/text pair:
   <br style="clear:both;" />

   If you are working in the Visual editor, to get single spacing between paragraphs hold the SHIFT key down and simultaneously click ENTER at the end of the paragraph. If you are working in the HTML editor, a single click of ENTER will give you a single-spaced line, and two clicks of ENTER will result in double spaced lines. read more WordPress Formatting and Spacing
