   I write a blog about writing. Mostly creative things as stories, poems and haikus. I also do some book reviews. And then I have a diary-category.

   I wrote a post not that long time ago, about my experience of BookCrossing. It´s about how I got a book from my husband who found it in the city, and how I found a message for me in that book and then got involved with BookCrossing.

   I have been trying for a couple of days now to figure out what category I should put that post in. I have no idea... It´s not about writing, it´s not about reading (not a book review), and it´s not a diary. What is it? Any ideas? I would be very happy for you suggestions, since Im still learning about blogging.    I don't have time to read the post. You could categorize it a BookCrossing as you are involved with BookCrossing and presumably will have other posts to place under that category.

   BookCrossing sounds like a good tag, rather than a category. Unless you plan to have lots of other such books and want a whole category devoted to them. Tags are good as small identifiers about the post content.

   So think about this: after you have 500 posts, what would you search for on your own blog to find that post, a year or two from now?

   Really, you should not be so worried: just use cats to organize your blog, then tags to mark small distinctions. But be honest: don't use tags that have nothing to do with your post's content (like "sex book" if it is not). Keep the total number of tags and categories around 10 or 12.

   And write good original content regularly.
