What do you think of my blog?

  1. ...and do you have any suggestions to improve the look? My biggest concern is that just looks like a conglomeration of content patched together from different sources, when in reality, my blog has 4 authors who write exclusively for this blog and put a lot of time and thought into each article.

Also...why is the picture for my "Latest Article" not showing up on the Homepage? It shows up when you click on the article, but not on the Homepage.

The blog I need help with is hanseconomics.com.

  2. Oh...url is hanseconomics.com

  3. It does seem a little busy. Not to toot my own horn, but have a look at my blog: The Mainland. It's a satirical/humor site meant to look like an online newspaper.

Perhaps you might want to go for something similar given your topics.

  4. Also...is there a way to change my "Posts" page to show only the titles of past posts?

I'm not sure what you mean by your "Posts" page - I didn't see a page for posts. I'm guessing your picture for your post isn't showing up on the teaser on the main page because there isn't enough room for it or your layout doesn't allow for it.

I agree that you could simplify your layout somewhat to make it less busy. Maybe instead of having a widget for the authors, you could have a page for the authors instead. You could make your Twitter widget smaller by featuring only the three latest tweets and you could also make your Facebook widget smaller. I'm generally not a big fan of tag clouds, but I think it probably works for your blog given the nature of what you're writing about. Anyway, maybe with a more clean and uniform look it will look less like an aggregated news site? Good luck!

Mixing up support questions in an opinion thread that is best suited to be in the Off-Topic Forum and posting it where we expect a brief promotional statement and link to a blog post can lead to confusion ;)

This is a link to a Guide to the Morning After. In most themes the main posts page —and in many themes the category and monthly archive pages as well— normally display a number of full posts. http://wpbtips.wordpress.com/2009/03/25/full-posts-in-archive-pages/ In order to have the image display on the front page one can use the excerpt box and HTML. Unfortunately, in the majority of available themes this function is dead. It's alive in The Morning After (if “full post content” option off) http://wpbtips.wordpress.com/2009/03/25/the-excerpt-function/

I'll move this thread to the Support Forum where it can be found by people looking for information about the Morning After theme.

If you would like to continue to hear opinions on your blog, or would like to showcase a specific post, feel free to begin another topic in the Showcase Forum.
