What is wrong with my blog?

  1. New post to my blog is not holding edits to style within the body of the text. It is also not showing up in blog feed. When I receive notice of its publication by email format is a mess. Please review and let me know what's going on. I have tried everything that support says to tackle these issues, yet still they remain. Your help is much appreciated. Thanks.

The blog I need help with is somagnosis.wordpress.com.

  2. Here's the posts RSS feed http://somagnosis.wordpress.com/feed/
Is this a sticky post? Disenfranchising Women’s ValuesTuesday, November 15, 2011 4:43 AM

  3. I don't know anything about the RSS feed link you posted. Thanks for responding so soon. No, Disenfranchising Women's Values is not a sticky post. My new post is dated today, but doesn't show up....

  4. It is also not showing up in blog feed.

This is the posts RSS feed for that blog http://somagnosis.wordpress.com/feed/

  5. My new post is dated today, but doesn't show up....

Please be sure you are running one of the browser versions here http://browsehappy.com first.

You may be able to recover an earlier post revision. Go to Posts > All Posts, hover over the title of the post, click Edit and check the Post Revisions module for previous saved versions of the post. http://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/post-revisions/

If you're not seeing the Revisions module while on the editor screen, click Screen Options (top right corner of your Admin page) http://en.support.wordpress.com/screen-options/ to activate it. Then select the post and page modules to include them. http://en.support.wordpress.com/modules/#list-of-modules Then you ought to be able to go here > Dashboard > All Posts > Posts and locate the post and recover it from post revisions.

If you cannot locate the post for locating and restoring a post revision, and it's not in your Trash folder http://en.support.wordpress.com/trash/ then you will not be able to recover it. http://en.support.wordpress.com/trash/#restoring-from-trash

Did you create your post on the dashboard of your own blog?
Dashboard > Posts > All Posts > Add New

Or did you create your post on the front page of WordPress.com?
    http://wordpress.com/#!/post/

    Advice:
Create your posts on the dashboard of your own blog
Dashboard > Posts > All Posts > Add New

Or use an offline blog editor so your have backups on your own computer http://en.support.wordpress.com/xml-rpc/

  6. I am on google chrome, I can find it in my drafts, I just can't publish or edit it.
    Thanks for all this info....

  7. I can find it in my drafts, I just can't publish or edit it.

If you are not running one of the browsers and versions listed at http://browsehappy.com/ please try upgrading or switching first.

Note: If you are using an IE9 browser in compatibility mode that makes it render as IE7 and IE7 is not supported. To disable see > http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/1196-internet-explorer-compatibility-view-turn-off.html

If you are running one of the browsers and versions listed at http://browsehappy.com please do these four things:

    1. Try clearing your browser’s cache:

    http://www.google.com/support/accounts/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=32050

    2. Make sure that you have third-party cookies enabled: http://en.support.wordpress.com/third-party-cookies/

    3. Try with all browser extensions or add-ons temporarily disabled.

    4. Try enabling HTTPS: http://en.support.wordpress.com/https/

If it’s still happening, let us know exactly which browser (and version of it) you’re using by checking here if necessary http://www.whatbrowser.org/ and also post any error reports you get.

  8. I'm using google chrome 23, most current version. No error reports, third party cookies enabled. BTW, recently got a notice that Java Script has potential corruption through hackers. Could that have something to do with it? Also, I did have an affiliate link in my widgets, which I deleted thinking that might be the problem. No error messages received.

  9. Any other ideas? I'm pulling my hair out trying to get this to post.

  10. BTW, recently got a notice that Java Script has potential corruption through hackers.

You misread that notice. Javascript and Java are not the same thing at all.

  16. Why is my blog not working properly?

  17. There is an ongoing problem with missing posts. It seems to happen mostly with people who use the "New Dashboard" or the New Post button in the Admin bar. Unfortunately, there doesn't appear to be anything we can do go get back those posts.

To prevent this problem in future, either use an offline blog editor like Windows Live Writer or make all your posts from the old Dashboard->Posts->Add New page.

  18. Ok, thank you. But this happened also with link I was trying to add from the dashboard. BTW, my feed is now working. So if you did anything on your end to fix it, I thank you!

  19. New post to my blog is not holding edits to style within the body of the text.

Could you please post a link to a post where your style edits aren't being saved?

What types of formatting are you applying, and how are you applying them? Are you editing the code in Text view? Are you using the formatting buttons? Which ones? (i.e. font colour? size?) Are you pasting in formatted text from another program?

When I receive notice of its publication by email format is a mess.

Would it be possible to upload a screenshot to help in troubleshooting?

Here's a guide on how to make a screenshot, if you're not sure: http://en.support.wordpress.com/make-a-screenshot/

You can upload the screenshot in your Media Library and then post a link so I can see it.

    Thanks!

  20. Thank you, but the issue has resolved itself. How? I don't know.

  21. I'm glad to hear the issue has sorted itself out. If it happens again, feel free to post a screenshot and answer the troubleshooting questions below. Thanks!

  22. I will. Thank you again Kathryn!
