What to do about comment and blogroll links to certain sites

    This is something I've never quite known and need to know fairly soon. If someone posts a comment in my blog and their username is linked to a WordPress.org site (or other website for that matter) that is predominantly commercial or commercially orientated, should I delete the link to stay within the WordPress.com TOS or is it okay to let it go through? Also, I'm creating a new blogroll (manually) that I'm going to put on a page and would like to include a two or three bloggers who have self-hosted blogs on WordPress.org and who come into the same sort of category and am not clear about whether that would be okay or not?

    The blogs aren't selling anything direct that I know of but at least a couple have affiliate links on their blogs. I've wanted to include them in the past (in a previous WordPress.com blog, but felt that I didn't dare do so in case it got me into trouble here.

    The blog I need help with is artbyvalerde.wordpress.com.

    There are no restirctions on comments. You may moderate and post comments as you please. The spam designation is only for spammers. It's not for blogs you simply don't want to post comments from. For those you can use the "trash" designation.

    The WordPress.com ToS and policies re: affiliate links,advertising and types of blogs allowed and not allowed policies apply only to WordPress.com bloggers, who chose to click the "I have read the fascinating Terms of Service" link, and enter the contract required to establish a WordPress.com username account and/or register blogs under it. They don't apply to blogs we post comments from.

    TT - okay, that's good to know. Does it apply though if I put these bloggers on the blogroll? After all that's a way of sorts of them having a presence on a WordPress.com blog, isn't it?

    You entered a contract with WordPress.com in order to have a blog here. Do you see any terms in the contract and the plicies that state that state that you cannot link to whichever sites you choose to link to in your blogroll?

    No, but things are frequently open to interpretation... okay, well thanks TT, I'll go ahead then. :)

    I'm happy to report that it's getting better every day and I will soon be able to use both eyes again. I feel like can't wait but I know that I must.
