Where did my widgets go???

  1. I added a TEXT widget to my sidebar and it appeared beautifully. However, all of my other widgets are no longer displaying. NONE of them. When I go into them and re-save them they are still not there on the side bar. What gives? I want my widgets back:(

    The blog I need help with is dianestrong.wordpress.com.

  2. All widgets are found here > Appearance > Widgets
    Look in the "Inactive Widgets" box.
    Also note that some widgets have visibility settings which are used to define which pages they will appear on.

    There is no sidebar on single posts when displayed on their own pages in the Twenty Eleven theme. http://theme.wordpress.com/themes/twentytwelve/

  3. You have also chosen the full page no sidebar template for your Pages like this one http://dianestrong.wordpress.com/about/

  4. That doesn't make sense. The sidebar was there before I added the latest text widget and I didn't change my theme. The one text widget I just added is there on the sidebar.

  5. When you say "the sidebar was there" are you referring to the front page of the blog at this link? http://dianestrong.wordpress.com/

  6. Your other widget haven't disappeared: scroll down to the bottom and you'll see them.
    They dropped there because of HTML errors in the Text widget you added. Edit the widget and remove this from the very end:

    </div>
    </div>

    There are other mistakes in the code too, that make the text start at the bottom right corner of the image. Where would you like the text to be, next to or below the image?

  7. I deleted the stuff you suggested and the sidebar is back. Thank you so much! I don't know how you know this stuff but I really appreciate you! Thanks to both of you for taking the time to help me.
