Where do posts go? Confused.

  1. Hello,

When I post an image to my blog http://www.JeremyShub.com.au I dont know where the image goes.

I'd like it to go into a slide show in the Sculpture gallery page.

    Help please.

    Thanks Jeremy

The blog I need help with is jeremyshub.com.au.

  2. In WordPress, a gallery will display all of the images that are attached to a given post or page. The easiest way to attach an image is to add it using the "Add Media" button above the editor while you're editing the post where the image appears.

This help page explains how galleries work in more detail and has several screenshots to help you:

  3. Hi,

I have a slide show and I want to insert images into the existing one. I get confused with the media window. What do you mean 'above the editor'?

I want all my images to be on the slideshow.

This is fun to play with CSS - there is so much to learn. I'm in Australia doing night shift and tweeking the website is good.

  4. I just realized I didn't answer the first, basic question about where the images go when you upload them. When you upload an image to a WordPress.com blog, the images are saved in your media library. You can access your media library by clicking the "Media" option on the left menu in your blog dashboard.

This help page explains more about the media library:

The other info I gave still applies to galleries—the images must be attached to a post or page in order for it to show up in a gallery. You can insert any image from your media library individually into any post, but to display a gallery the image has to be attached first.

  5. What do you mean 'above the editor'?

This is the "Add Media" icon that appears just above the editor:

  6. I want all my images to be on the slideshow.

Then all of the images would need to be uploaded and attached to the page where you want to display that slideshow.

  7. This is fun to play with CSS - there is so much to learn. I'm in Australia doing night shift and tweeking the website is good.

    Awesome!

  8. Thanks,

How do I attached an image to a page?
How do I change which page?
Can an image be attached to two pages?

  9. How do I attached an image to a page?

Open the page for editing and use this button: http://en.support.files.wordpress.com/2009/08/add-media.png

How do I change which page?

There's not a built in way to do that using WordPress yet. It's something the core WordPress developer team has plans to improve in the future though.

Can an image be attached to two pages?

Not at this time. Sorry about that!

  10. Thanks heaps for your ongoing support.

  11. :)
