Where Have All My Stats Gone?

  1. To be perfectly frank, I'm computer illiterate. I had already retired before they arrived. So, I fiddled around and muddled about until I got something to work. That's because I like to write. A great way to spend valuable time keeping your brain unscrambled. Computer language? I've even tried searching the Oxford dictionary to understand the meaning of computer language. To no avail. So, why am I starting this thread? Because my stats have gone haywire and I can't fix it. Any volunteers?

The blog I need help with is falstaffmusicblog.wordpress.com.

  2. Because my stats have gone haywire and I can't fix it.

    What exactly does that mean?

Our stats are not real time stats. The data is cached and takes hours to update. See here for more on stats > http://en.support.wordpress.com/stats/

Do be aware the likes and shares are not pages view stats. Likes and shares are misleading when you are talking about page view stats. Your followers and anyone with a WordPress.com blog who is logged into WordPress.com can "like" and "share" your posts in several locations such as in email and the Reader without ever clicking into your blog and creating a page view stat.

  3. When I press 'check it out now' to try and enhance the stats to obtain countries I get a blank.

  4. Same thing. Just a shape of a head and the wordpress logo

  5. If you are not running one of the browsers and versions listed at http://browsehappy.com/ please try upgrading or switching first.

Note: If you are using an IE9 browser in compatibility mode that makes it render as IE7 and IE7 is not supported. To disable see > http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/1196-internet-explorer-compatibility-view-turn-off.html

If you are, please do these four things:

    1. Try clearing your browser’s cache http://www.google.com/support/accounts/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=32050

    2. Make sure that you have third-party cookies enabled http://en.support.wordpress.com/third-party-cookies/

    3. Try with all browser extensions or add-ons temporarily disabled.

    4. Try enabling HTTPS: http://en.support.wordpress.com/https/

If you are not successful let us know exactly which browser (and version of it) you’re using and post any error reports you get.

  6. i'm new to wordpress and it seems that i'm only seeing my own visits to my blogs.i know that my friends are visiting my blogs but their visits are not getting recorded in stats

  7. It's all too much for me. I used to get stats with country results, now nothing. I've given up trying. Don't understand all the mumbo jumbo blog language. I'm just a writer who uses dictionary English.
