I just paid to upgrade my domain to be michaeltoddharrison.com plus the extra to make it a private domain. Of course, now my blog cannot be found.
Seems the old domain, michaeltoddharrison.wordpress.com is still there. I did mark the new one as my primary....
I thought this sounded too good to be true. Now my cc info is out there and am frustrated.
The blog I need help with is michaeltoddharrison.com.

In the last few hours maybe?? In the mapping they point out that it can take a while for changes to migrate to the far corners of the internet - your new site http://michaeltoddharrison.com/ resolves fine for me. 24 to 72 hours for the changes but changes usually start sooner.

Is it normal in this situation to type in the domain sans "wordpress", and then have it it appear in the url when the page loads anyway? I was thinking by doing this upgrade, I wouldn't have to see that as part of my domain anymore.

Visitors will see the mapped domain - you will see the your-site.wordpress.com when you are in the Dashboard - click on my name - I have a mapped domain.
