Where's My First Post

  1. For some reason, my first post, "Creating My Blog, or Here Lies Desperation" doesn't show up in my list of recent posts widget; furthermore, it was never listed. How can I get it to show up on the list?

The blog I need help with is hollyjpierce.wordpress.com.

  2. Go to appearance > widgets, edit the recent posts widget and change the number of posts to show to something greater than 5 and make sure and click "save." Generally I would not make it more than 10 though.

  3. The other thing to think about is if you have your main blog page showing say 10 posts, then your "recent" posts are right there on the main page. The recent posts widget, for me at least, would only be used if I have my blog set to only show 1 or 2 posts on the main page. Then it would be needed. A recent posts widget showing 10 posts on a main blog page showing 10 posts is sort of redundant.

  4. Except that if the Recent Posts Widget is near the top of the page it shows Post titles without requiring visitors to page down to get an idea of what is on your blog
