   Obviously, this is a private blog that I invite people to see. Right now it's a work in progress and only one person besides me has permission to view it. But the stats say otherwise,and in fact people are downloading pictures from it. Not that I really care ;-) it's kind of a cynical, funny blog -- but I don't understand how I get so many "hits" when it is supposed to be private (that's why some of the postings are locked with a password, only those who live here would understand them, and I don't want that stuff out yet).

   Can someone explain to this newbie blogger what's going on?

   Private blogs count logged in user traffic - otherwise there would never be any traffic because only logged in users can see the blog - - if the blog is Public then logged in users are not counted -

   Auxclass: I don't think I understand. "Logged in user traffic" is what? I logged in today to correct some spelling, but I didn't log in 38 times!

   No, you didn't log in 38 times but you went around your blog 38 times no doubt. It doesn't mean you are counted by the amount of times you log in, by by what you do when you are logged in (because your blog is private). No-one downloaded your images, that is you uploading them and then checking them. How would you know anyone downloaded them anyway as that is not anything that shows in stats. All it shows is when they are clicked on. Because your blog is private think of it that everything you do on your blog is recorded in the stats, that's all it is. You also say you have someone else on your blog and that will increase the stat count too.

   WordPress.com stats are page view stats. Every time you click into a page in your blog it is being counted.
