why are my comments being sent to my feedback for one of my posts?
In my recent post, "focus: beach date," all my comments went into my feedback. I added a comment form at the end of the post...it bothers me, because I cant even reply to the comments, and they dont show up on my page. I made sure that the setting for my comments were set up to allow comments...Ive exhausted all the help I can...if you could help me, that would be great. Id love to reply back to these people! Thanks so much.

  2. That's very odd as contact form responses ought to be found in feedback and not comments. I've flagged this thread for Staff attention. Please be patient while waiting.

Thanks! Ps do I even need to put a comment form at the end of posts to allow the public to comment?

  4. Comments on all pages and posts on every WordPress blog are enabled by default. This page > Settings > Discussion
Discussion settings is where you set up defaults for comments.

We can also override the default settings and enable or disable future comments on any individual post or page.

Note: By default, new blogs on WordPress.com will have the Discussion hidden. You can reveal it by clicking on Screen Options http://en.support.wordpress.com/screen-options/ on the top right corner of your Admin page, and checking the box that says Discussion so the module is included. http://en.support.wordpress.com/modules/#list-of-modules

Thanks for the info, I figured that out after my first couple posts...but you know how you can add a comment form in your posts? Is that neccessary to recieve comments? I suppose I could just try to not add the comment form in and see if its still possible for the public to make comments. Maybe the comments that went to my feedback was a fluke? I would still like to know if it was something I did to prevent it in the future. It was a link up post I joined in on...just incase that helps. Thanks so much again,
    Amanda.

  6. From looking at your blog...

you added the "contact form" to each of your posts from September 6 on, and that is why anything written is going to feedback. They are "contact form" responses, not comments, and are doing what they are supposed to do.

There is no need to add the contact form to your posts, unless you specifically want people to contact only you, do not want comments to appear in your posts, and you are giving them a way to do so without having your email address on your blog.

For your blog to be interactive and people to comment on posts directly, remove/stop adding the contact form to individual posts, and make sure comments are enabled. You can choose to have comments moderated, so no comment appears until you approve it.

(You may want to create a page with a contact form on it, so people do have the ability to contact you directly.)

    Hope that helps!
