Why are my posts extending right across the page?

  1. My blog used to look good but recently has gone awry: some posts extend across the page and are out of chronological order, and the right side bar has been shunted down to the bottom of the blog. I have gone throigh my posts looking for odd html but am not proficient at this and don't know what the problem is. Could anyone please help me? Thank you very much.

  2. Sidebars do not fall to the bottom and display below posts unless
    (1) content has been imported into the blog,
    (2) the blogger has been copying and pasting content from elsewhere, without using either icon 5 or icon 6 in Row 2 of the visual editor http://en.support.wordpress.com/visual-editor/#pasting-text
    (3) or the blogger has copied and pasted invalid HTML into a text widget or left an HTML tag open

See here for sorting this out > http://wpbtips.wordpress.com/2012/05/19/sidebar-at-the-bottom-and-related-issues/

  3. re: out of chronological order
Blogs are essentially a reverse chronological order publishing tool and you cannot change this order on a free hosted WordPress.com blog. Posts will be posted to your blog in accord with their date stamps at publication. WordPress by default shows posts in reverse chronological order (newest post on top). For returning visitors, this is very convenient since they can see the latest post without having to page down through page after page of hundreds of posts they have already read.

If you wish you can set an introductory sticky post to display at the top of the front page ie. the main page for posts.

Also see here for the option of creating a book-like structure > http://en.support.wordpress.com/write-a-book/ Perhaps that will work for you.

  4. reset timezone:
When a new site is created, the time zone setting is UTC/GMT by default. If you go and set the time zone at Settings > General, and you are quite a ways from UTC/GMT, and you immediately create a post, you can end up with the first couple posts out of order. From that point on though, the posts (as long as they are not sticky posts) will be in reverse chronological order (newest at top). Make sure and set your time zone to your local time zone (scroll up on the list to find a city near you). > Settings > General
