Why are my posts in the wrong order?

  1. I posted two posts today, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. However, the one that I posted in the afternoon is showing up below the one I posted earlier today. Why is it doing this and how can I fix it?

    My website: http://mirandaruns.wordpress.com
    My theme is "Forever"
I haven't changed any of the HTML at all.

The blog I need help with is mirandaruns.wordpress.com.

  2. Hi there - were you able to get this sorted out? The two posts on your front page look to be in reverse chronological order at the moment.

Just let me know if you still need any help.

  3. No I can't figure out how to change it!

  4. Hi there,
Our blogs display posts in reverse chronological order, unless there is a timezone issue or a sticky posts issue.

The default timezone is UTC time. You can reset your timezone here > Settings > General Select the closest city to you in the same timezone in the drop-down menu you see there and then click "save changes".

If that does not rectify the post order then how many sticky posts have you created? http://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/post-visibility/#sticky-posts

  5. These are the first three posts I see:

First, at the top: "Marvelous in My Monday 3/4" - published Mar 4, 2013 @ 5:11

Second, just below the above: "I made the switch!" - published Mar 3, 2013 @ 18:17

    Third: "The switcheroo + Week of 3/4-3/10" - published Mar 3, 2013 @ 13:30

The display you're seeing is to be expected, because everything is in reverse chronological order, with the most recent posts displayed first.

If you're trying to switch the order of "I made the switch!" and "The switcheroo + Week of 3/4-3/10" you can click the Edit link next to either one of them, and adjust the publication time to change the order.

For example, on the post "The switcheroo + Week of 3/4-3/10" you will see this:

Click Edit, change the time to make it later than 18:17 on March 3, click OK, and click Update.

The positions of the two March 3 posts should now be reversed.

  6. Thank you! I figured it out:)

  7. Excellent - happy blogging!
