This morning, I am getting intrusive and obnoxious pop-up ads on my dashboard and right now on this page as well. It's from GAMENUTT.COM. They have caused my drafting/editing to slow down. I thought ads would only show up if I wasn't logged in?
The blog I need help with is cyranette.wordpress.com.
This has happened on both my wordpress blogs.
Ditto. The GAMENUTT.COM ads take up approximately 20% of the screen. I thought users who were logged in were not subject to ads. It's distracting and is slowing down my processing speed. I'm also getting pop-up ads along the bottom of my Reader.
Go to your email program and change the password to a very difficult one because that's how many hackers gain access to blogs

1. If you can log-in go here > Users > All Users and delete any user that does not belong there.
2. Disable post by email > http://en.support.wordpress.com/post-by-email/
3. Disable post by voice > http://en.support.wordpress.com/post-by-voice/
4. Change your blog password to a very difficult one > http://en.support.wordpress.com/passwords/#change-your-password
You can also reset your password via your Settings tab on the WordPress.com home page:

5. Use a secure, encrypted connection to connect to your Dashboard. Under Users → Personal Settings, check the box that says “Always use HTTPS when visiting administration pages, and click Save Changes.
P.S. I flagged this thread for Staff help. Please confirm the URL of the blog you are referring to if you have not already done so.
As well, confirm that these are not from a browser add-on. Lots of them sneak ads into your browser. Disable add-ons, then enable them one by one to see if the ads return.
WordPress.com does not use text enhance or text link ads or pop-up ads or links in comments. If you are seeing those then that’s a browser-ad-on issue, or in some cases, it’s embedded into free games downloaded from the internet. The urls I am referring to, Timethief, are: cyranette.wordpress.com and helpfromcyranette.wordpress.com. Thank you and raincoaster for your help. I will try these tips/solutions and close this forum, unless the ads continue.
WordPress.com does not place pop-up ads on any sites. Please refer to the resources timethief posted above to try to remove the malware you likely have inadvertently installed in your browser.
