Why aren't my view count stats aren't updating?

    (I recently became an admin for a FB help group. I already appreciated WP's prompt, helpful assistance in the past, but now? WOW. THANK YOU SO MUCH.)

    I have another primary WP blog which I've been using regularly for years (Locutus of Blog, username: Behnnie) so I'm familiar with the Stats page and how all that works. But now I've just started up a new one (See Changes, username: Mindy the Fish<- what I called myself when I'd play in the tub as a toddler) and I keep getting notifications that people have followed it or liked certain posts, but my total All Time view count is stuck at 3 views.

    Thoughts? Advice?

    P.S. I've checked this in both Firefox and Chrome and have updated Java and Flash for both, updated both browsers, and cleared both caches. I have also viewed my Stats through the WP app on a Droid Incredible 2. Each place still says 3 views.

    Likes and shares are misleading when you are talking about page view stats. Your followers and anyone with a WordPress.com blog who is logged into WordPress.com can "like" and "share" your posts in several locations such as the Reader without ever clicking into your blog and creating a page view stat.

    I choose to reduce my RSS Feed to "summary" here > Settings > Reading
    For each article in a feed, show
    Full text
    Summary
    Doing that compels followers to click in and read the full post on my blogs.

    WordPress.com stats are not real time stats. that means they take time to update. Also as I posted above one does not need to click into your blog and create a page view stat to click a like button.

    Why don’t post/page views add up to total views?
    Post/page views are included in total views, but there are many views to your site that are not a post or page URL. The front pages, category/tag/date/author archives, and searches are all examples of other views that only count towards total views. http://en.support.wordpress.com/stats/#additional-info

    Yeah, I knew about the stats not being in real time so I made sure to give it a couple days before asking-- just in case! But I wasn't aware that Reader views didn't count toward the view stats. Whoops... Thanks for clearing that up for me. And I followed the suggestion from the link you posted-- about switching to the summary view setting for feeds. Here's hoping that does the trick.
