Why can't Akismet block known words BEFORE it gets to me?

    Before anyone yells at me about another spam topic, let me say this: I KNOW Akismet does its job of flagging spam. I KNOW I can delete it or let it self-delete after a few weeks. However, I am being hit with more and more spam with each passing day, all of which I feel I need to check in case a valid comment is being flagged as spam.

    99% of it wouldn't even arrive if I could only somehow keep anything with the phrase "lista de emails" from ever reaching me. Why can't we add a filter in Akismet that says to automatically delete anything with certain words? I also will never, ever be interested in any comment with the word "Viagra" in it. Thank you.

    Note: That spammer is using mulitple IPS and email addresses but you don't need to worry about this as Akismet catches them all. On the spam that Akismet catches it takes only seconds to click "empty spam" and you don't even have to click "empty spam" if you don't want to. Akismet will maintain comments it has caught for 15 days from the time they were received, and then it will delete the comment automatically.

    If you get spam that slips by Akismet then mark it as spam (do not delete it) and over time Akismet will learn it's spam.

    The vast and overwhelming majority of all so-called information on the internet is spam. Over 80% of all so-called comments submitted to .wordpress.com blogs every day are spam.

    I don't think you read my original post. I realize that Akismet marks it as spam. But I have to wade through dozens of spam comments a day to make sure that a valid, non-spam comment has not been marked as spam.

    My (and others', judging from other posts) wanting to block comments from EVER reaching me based on keywords such as "Viagra" hopefully shows that I KNOW spammers use multiple IPs and email addresses. The blacklist feature doesn't do anything more than what Akismet does now -- marks it as spam, which I then have to check. I want spam deleted before it gets to me. I'm not a programmer, but why can't Akismet have that feature? Is there another plug-in that would work with Akismet to enable that? I want to delete anything with "lista de emails" in it before it even gets to my spam folder. Thank you.

    OK. Thank you for taking the time to answer, and I mean that sincerely. But none of my concerns were addressed and all the info about Akismet are things I already knew and which do not help me whatsoever.

    Hoping perhaps someone can recommend another spam blocker that's better than Akismet or which works with Akismet to delete spam based on keywords.

    The only spam blocker on WordPress.com blogs is Akismet. There is no FTP access to our blogs and we bloggers cannot install any plugins. You could use this contact link > http://akismet.com/contact/

    You're welcome. There are others but they can only be used on WordPress.org installs and not on our free hosted WordPress.com blogs. http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
