Why can't I capitalize my display name?

  • I try to change my display name from amorilp to Amori Lp, but it only just reverts back to amorilp. Is there a way to format it to have capital letters and a space, or is that just the way all display names are formatted?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • I’m not aware of any way to use caiptal lettering on usernames or display nemaes. Search engines “see” everything in lower case.

  • Sorry about the stupid typos. :(

  • The “display” name under your profile in your dashboard you should be able to capitalize. As TT says though, you cannot have uppercase in “usernames.”

  • I’m just frustrated as to why my display name will show up with the capital letters and space under a post in my blog, but not in forums or on my dashboard…

  • That’s because what displays here is always according to WordPress.com restrictions, so they can keep track of you. It’s of no concern to your blog readers, though. They never see it.

  • No one else can see what’s in your dashboard. It really doesn’t matter how it looks in the forum. You can change it to whatever you want in your blog posts & when commenting on other people’s blogs. It stays the way it is on the forum so there won’t be people impersonating one another on the forum or people with the same names.
