Why can't I see the people who have liked my posts?

  1. Although people can click they've liked my posts and I receive email notification when they do, their names/gravatars are not being displayed under my posts. I've checked settings, under sharing. Likes are clicked "On for all posts". I've checked screen options. Likes and shares are clicked to show on screen. Any other suggestions?

The blog I need help with is ellagermanathome.wordpress.com.

  2. Click any post title and scroll to the end of your posts because that's where I do see the gravarats of those who clicked the like button on posts.

  3. Post with like button displayed

    Re: stats, likes and shares
Our stats are not real time stats. The data is cached and takes hours to update. See here for more on stats > http://en.support.wordpress.com/stats/

Do be aware the likes and shares are not pages view stats. Likes and shares are misleading when you are talking about page view stats. Your followers and anyone with a WordPress.com blog who is logged into WordPress.com can "like" and "share" your posts in several locations such as in email and the Reader without ever clicking into your blog and creating a page view stat.

You can control the length of the entry sent out on your RSS feed here > Settings > Reading and choose the "summary" setting for your RSS feed or the "full text". If you set it to summary then visitors have to click into the blog to read the full post.

  4. I too am wondering if there is a way to see who "likes" my posts via the Facebook "Like" button. I can see a number of likes displayed, but would like to know who those people are. I am also wondering if there is a way to add a Facebook "Share" button? My blog is cfwife.wordpress.com

  5. I can see a number of likes displayed, but would like to know who those people are.

WordPress.com does not have that information. It's a privacy issue.

I am also wondering if there is a way to add a Facebook "Share" button?

You can have both Facebook like and share buttons on your posts.

  6. Thanks for your help. I followed the instructions and it worked to add in the sharing button. The icon however did not appear. Any ideas why? I do have the "official buttons" turned on.

  7. I see it right next to the Facebook like button.

  8. Yes, I see it too. I was just wondering why the share button didn't show up looking more like the facebook like button to the right of it.

  9. Now I feel silly. For some reason I thought likes should show up on the main page after each post, not just when you expand each individual one. But yes, now I do see them and I'm relieved they are there. Thank you, timethief, for the response.
