Need help? Check out our Support site, then

why do all new posts go to home page?

  1. I want every page to have multiple posts -- but every time I'm on a page & chose POST, it puts new post on home page -- how to do that?

The blog I need help with is collegesample.wordpress.com.

  2. You do not comprehend the differences between pages and posts.
    http://en.support.wordpress.com/post-vs-page/

There is only one dynamic page in a blog for posts and we cannot post to more than that one page. But we can create the appearance that we have posted to more than one page. We organize our posts by assigning Categories to them. When we publish a post it automatically appears on the running page for posts and also on the Categories pages and Archives pages. Note: There must be one published post in each Category in order for there to be anything to display.

A custom menu allows you to display Categories with drop-downs to sub-categories in tabs along the horizontal navigation where normally only Pages tabs are displayed. If you wish you can also include Pages with drop-downs to sub-pages and custom links in your custom menu as well. You choose the order in which to display the foregoing in your custom menu. You choose which to display and which to hide. How to create a custom menu. http://en.support.wordpress.com/menus

Also note that if you do not want all the posts to show on the main page, then you can create a static front page for your site. If you wish, you can also create a “blog” page for your posts to display, but you do not have to if you do not want to.

  3. @ collegesample, before you worry about your blog and do what timethief said you should do, your posts have no text or tags or categories, the only comments are your own , theres only one or two words in your posts.

  4. @dribblingpensioner
I believe collegesample dove into blogging here head first and created w whack of test posts and pages. He/she has posted three forum threads and I have provided the link to the step by step wordpress.com tutorial. I believe that he/or she will now slow way down start using the tutorial and then everything will slowly fall into place.

  5. Yes TT, head first is right as a few have done, myself included :)
