Why does Facebook post my avatar and not the photograph I posted?

  1. In the past, whenever I posted a photograph or two on WordPress, the first photo in the slideshow would appear in the post on my Facebook page. Now however, the picture that gets posted on Facebook is my WordPress avatar.

Since I post both opinion pieces and photographs, I feel that many of my friends on Facebook might not realize that my post is a photograph and skip over my painstaking work.

Other than changing my avatar every time I post something on WordPress, is there a setting I need to change so that my photo posted on WordPress is shown on my Facebook page?

    Thank you,
    Steven

  2. Unfortunately, we have no control over the images that Facebook chooses to display or when they choose to flush their image caches. We really only send them the URL of the post, and they hunt through that for the excerpt and images to include.
