I was finally able to link a site to my blog. However, instead of going directly to that site, I get a window showing the widget and address that the person must then click to get to the site. This does not seem right. Any suggestions?

That's because you added the wrong URL. If, for example, I go to foodieblogroll.com, click "Blogs" and want to add the latest blog I can see there ("Healthy Living How To") to my blogroll, the URL I must use is this:
http://www.healthylivinghowto.com/
I'm sorry, I'm confused. They sent the URL and told me to past it in. "Healthy Living How to" is just one of the many blogs attached to this site. The site URL is http://foodieblog.com My site URL is http://solefoodfunk.com. they said the code on the one they sent would work on a wordpress site. Maybe I ned to ask their support.
http://foodieblog.com redirects to http://www.kitchendaily.com/ . If that's the site you want to link to, that's the URL you should use.
