Why does my WP blog look so terrible on an iPad now?

  1. The blog does not display properly on iPad. The pictures and text are all jumbled together.

The blog I need help with is tim-byrd.com.

  2. Hi outlawmoon,

Could you take a screenshot of it, and upload it to your media library? You can see instructions for taking a screenshot on an iPad here:

    http://graphicssoft.about.com/od/screencapture/qt/screen-shot-ipod-iphone.htm

Let me know once you've done that, I'll take a look. Thanks!

  3. Done it. Thanks in advance.

  4. Hi outlawmoon,

I'm not quite sure how it happened, but the images are missing a CSS class that would allow them to automatically shrink for different screen sizes. This CSS class would normally be added automatically when you upload and insert an image. I see that you were fine on previous posts, but on your most recent posts (including in http://tim-byrd.com/2013/01/31/the-imminent-return-of-doc-wilde/ ) the images are missing this class. May I ask how is it that you are writing and editing your posts and inserting images? Is it through your dashboard (https://outlawmoon.wordpress.com/wp-admin/edit.php ) ?

In any case, to fix these images, you can have a look at the instructions here:

    http://en.support.wordpress.com/images/image-settings/

and in particular, the part that talks about the "advanced settings". Please add the following class to your images, then let me know if it works:

    size-full

  5. I go through the menus at the other right corner of the blog to "New Post," just as I have been doing. Then I use the "Add Media" button (the menus of which, I have to say, are clunkier and less intuitive than the discreet buttons you used to have; someone there seems to have a streamlining fetish, but sticking a bunch of functions behind a single button only to make people have to click through various menus only adds needless steps to the posting process).

The only thing I've done differently, other than use the newer version of the interface, is to drag and drop images into the media library, but once they're actually in the library I don't see why they'd post improperly.

Maybe this is a problem with the newer iteration of the interface, but I'm just the first to catch it.

I'll try the fix you recommend. I just hope I don't have to manually fix everything from this point forward, whatever the cause.

    Thank you for the help.

  6. Hi,

Please let me know if you need help with the fix.

The next time you create a post, do it in the way you usually do, and then let me know so that I can check to see if the CSS class was added properly by itself or not. There might be a bug that needs to be fixed there.

    Thanks!
