I have been receiving referrals from a forum and they used to appear in the referral section of my stats. But one day that just disappeared even from the all time referral view.
how can this be fixed, so I can know where the hits are coming from?

Some search engines don’t reveal search terms for privacy reasons. That’s why we don’t always know which search terms were used by visitors who arrived at your site from a search engine. When we don’t know the search terms, we show them as “Unknown search terms”.
this was not a search engine, but a direct link from a forum post. These referral did appear on my stats at first but now they are absent, even in the all time view.
Does it appear in your Google webmaster's account?
