Why doesn't featured image in Anthem theme show up in RSS feed?

  1. I just purchased the Anthem theme for my photo blog. The problem is that I'm using the "featured image" and while it looks fantastic, the image does not show up in my RSS feed.
Thus, subscribers get only the headline and text, which is pretty lame for a photo blog. Is there some way to address this?

  2. I'm sorry, that's not possible. It's up to your viewer's choice of feed reader service. Some feed readers display images and some (like Google Reader) don't display them.

  3. I don't think this has anything to do with the feed reader.
The feed itself simply does not contain the featured images. You can see here: http://farrellkramer.net/feed/
The feed does contain other images, including galleries and images placed in the body of the post. But the featured images seem to not make it into the feed.
I think there's a problem with the way the feed handles featured images. What I don't know is if this is theme-specific and if there's any way to address it.

  4. That's a limitation we're aware of. If the featured images are no within the post content themselves, there's no way to display them in the feed.

We're looking into ways to get around that.

  5. Thanks much. Is there some way I can track progress of this? I want to continue using the theme, but if a workaround isn't possible I want to switch to something else that supports RSS.

As you work on this, please note that the featured images also don't appear in the WordPress emails, which I assume are based on the feed, and they don't display in the mobile version of the theme (At least, it proved to be the case on my iPhone. Haven't checked the iPad yet).

  6. There's no way to directly track the progress, but we are still looking into ways to do this.
