Why doesn't my password work

  1. Why does it keep saying my password is incorrect. EVERY time I log in, using the SAME password, it tells me it's incorrect and I need to redo it. Everytime I put in the same password, and everytime I log out and then log in another time or another day I have to go through the whole process all over again.

  2. Do you have more than one username account here at WordPress.com?

    (1) Are you using the secure https:// login?
    http://en.support.wordpress.com/https/

    (2) Exactly which browser and version of it are you using. If you aren’t sure click here to find out > http://whatsmyuseragent.com/

Note: If you are using an IE9 browser in compatibility mode that makes it render as IE7 and IE7 is not supported. To disable see > http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/1196-internet-explorer-compatibility-view-turn-off.html

    (3) Have you done any troubleshooting? Below are the troubleshooting steps we take whenever any issues like this arise and undertaking them will provide valuable feedback information for Staff:

    a. clearing your browser cache and cookies > http://www.google.com/support/accounts/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=32050

    b. Using the browser with all extensions or add-ons disabled

    c. updating the browser to the latest stable version (not a buggy BETA browser version) http://browsehappy.com/

    d. Confirming third party cookies is enabled on the browser http://support.google.com/accounts/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=61416

    e. Confirming JavaScript is enabled http://www.google.com/adsense/support/bin/answer.py?answer=12654

    f. Confirming Flash is updated http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/ and if required installing the latest version of Flash http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/

    g. Resetting your router and modem and rebooting your computer
then logging in using the secure https:// log-in

    h. Trying another browser

  3. Wow....there's a lot of terms there Ihave no idea.... I'll go through it all slowly and try to figure it out. I'm using the log in at home...not in public so I'm pretty sure it's the right https...log in. As for number 2 it reads: Mozilla/5.0 (compatible; MSIE 9.0; Windows NT 6.0; Trident/5.0) which isn't what you typed in as a problem....so I assume it's not the first two you mention... will have to work on looking into the others later. But thanks!

  4. Also, if you are using anything that remembers and auto-fills your password, make sure that you update it every time you change your password.
