Why doesn't my profile picture change?

  1. Why won't my Profile picture change?

I changed my profile pic in Gravatar. I did clear the cache and cookies...but yet, when I went to post on my Facebook page the my WordPress blog location...the Thumbnail still has the old profile picture.

Sometimes it takes awhile for the Gravatar to change but eventually it will:)

  3. Gravatar images are cached and don't update instantaneously. if you keep uploading then it will take even longer for the image to display.

Also note that we have no control over which images Facebook chooses to display, and we have no control over how long it takes for the image caches at Facebook to be flushed. Does this help?

  4. Dear Messymusings05 and Timethief:

Thanks so much for the feedback.

Well, Gravatar DID update but apparently there are 2 places in WordPress for profile pics. Gravatar is just one. I found another place buried deep in the Dashboard. Had to clear the cache again...and then it finally changed.

Extremely frustrating and very user unfriendly.

P.S. @Timethief: I only mentioned Facebook because I was trying to post the URL for my blog there...that's how I found out that the profile pic had never changed. Nothing to do with FB. But thanks for trying to help me anyway.

  5. Hi there,
I'm happy to hear this is resolved. Best wishes with your blog.

  6. HI,
can you please tell me where 'deep in the dashboard' you went to clear the cache.. and step by step how you did it.
I have the same issue and I changed my picture a year ago

  7. Dashboard > Users > My Profile

  8. Hi Paniamowat:

It was under "Settings" and then select 'General' at the top. Over to the right is the picture for your blog!

    Hope that helps.
