A couple blog readers have informed me that they can't get to my blog because their govt server is blocking it (one federal, one local). Is there something I can do to fix that? Or is there something you can do?
Here's the message a Dept of Interior (DOI) employee got from his TIS person:
"This site was identified as having hosted Malware (probably due to a vulnerability on their site that was compromised). DOI uses USCERT, BlueCoat (one of the largest web content filtering companies), and other reliable sources in determining sites that have been compromised. Once the problem on the website is fixed it can still be a couple of months (or more) before its cleared for use.
There are currently 4 different malware checking services finding problems with this domain (see http://www.urlvoid.com/scan/prairieecologist.com/ ). Until the problem is fixed and it shows clean by all of these no DOI employees will be able to reach the site.
Because DOI relies on 3rd party sources there are no procedures to speed up this process. If the site is still infected you can contact the site owners to let them know of the problem."
