Why is the ad in the place of my sidebar instead of somewhere else?

  1. There's some ad instead of my sidebar, occupying its place and making readers (and myself) scroll down to it.
I wanna kno why is it there instead of somewhere else, I know there WILL BE ads, but they shouldn`t mess with the appearance hampering the reading of the blog

The blog I need help with is eternalsight.wordpress.com.

Please also note that it's possible for ads to appear in your browser that were not placed there by WordPress.com. These ads are sometimes caused by malware or a virus, but more often it is due to a browser extension or toolbar that you may have installed in your browser. WordPress.com does not use text enhance or text link ads or pop-up ads or links in comments. If you are seeing those then see here: Bloggers: Beware of Adware. http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/2012/09/14/bloggers-beware-of-adware/

  4. No, they're not links nor pop ups, they're the usual ads (the ones showed on top and bottom of the blog, ads by browse or whatever they are) its just the location is weird.
    here's the screenshoot:

  5. The place where the ad is, should be showing the sidebar :S
    exact url: http://eternalsight.files.wordpress.com/2013/04/sin-tc3adtulo.jpg
    sry for the mistake.

  6. Do you see any text below that says "Ads not by this site"? These ads are sometimes caused by malware or a virus, but more often it is due to a browser extension or toolbar that you may have installed in your browser.

These sites have further explanation and suggestions for eliminating the ads: http://www.littletechiethings.com/2012/06/how-to-remove-ads-not-by-this-site.html http://blog.wikimedia.org/2012/05/14/ads-on-wikipedia-your-computer-infected-malware/ http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/2012/09/14/bloggers-beware-of-adware/

I hope this helps! Please let me know if you have any further questions.

  7. I have noticed that the "About these ads" notice is now turning up to the left of the ad, rather than above it. That will make the ad wider and push the sidebar down.

  8. As I said before, in case my english is that bad, it is not malware or a virus or any extension or toolbar in my browser BC I have NONE.
I posted the screenshoot as I was asked to do, they're the regular ads appearing on top and botton of the site, and they do not say 'ads not by this site'
The exact sentence is part of the ad, saying 'ads by browser'. The first thing I tried was another browser, checked the addons and else, nothing changed.
If there's a posibility of something in my comp doing that, any lid would be helpful, as I didnt find anything when I scanned it.

  9. The screenshot you posted only showed part of the ad, so I wasn't fully able to see what you were talking about. But, from what it sounds like, those ads are not placed on your site by WordPress.com. They are being placed there by software on your own computer. Ads on WordPress.com do not have any text saying "ads not by this site" or "ads by browser". If you could take a screenshot of the *entire* ad, that will be most helpful.

Also, please visit the sites I linked to above for additional information and for tips on eliminating these ads.

  10. Thanks for that.
The time you said it was not wordpress I checked out with my phone and -yep- no ads browsing from there, so I run my computer manually and I found the problem. It was one of the names listed in the second link.
So, its solved, but you may want to add that those could be found too in the program control panel not only as addons in a browser.
    Thanks for the help.

  11. I'm glad you were able to find what was causing the problem!

I'll make a note of that for future reference. Thank you!
